According to beat writer Jordan Raanan, both Evan Engram and backup tight end Rhett Ellison aren’t practicing on Wednesday. Engram continues to deal with a mid-foot sprain while Ellison suffered a concussion in Week 10 against Dallas before the bye.
On Monday, Engram told Raanan that it was “definitely possible” he could return this week but it’s starting to look like he may have been overly optimistic. If he can’t go, Ellison would be next in line if he can clear concussion protocol.
Sterling Shepard returned to practice on Monday after missing the last five games with concussion symptoms. If he can return this week, he would likely help offset Engram’s absence while Golden Tate and Darius Slayton would continue to have fantasy relevance.
