What to do with Adam Vinatieri on Thursday Night Football

Adam Vinatieri ranks 18th in fantasy points for kickers this season, and you probably know why. Vinatieri has scuffled for much of the season, missing five of his 20 field goal attempts and six of his 24 extra point attempts.

The Texans rank 17th in field goal attempts allowed, and 15th in extra point attempts allowed. On the season, they’ve given up the tenth-most fantasy points to kickers. This game has a middle-of-the-road over/under at 45 points, and the Colts are +5.5 underdogs.

Vinatieri has hit 2-of-3 50+ yard attempts this season, so he still can leg them out, but he’s also missed four under 50 yards. If I’m looking to use a kicker who hasn’t seen a ton of volume and hasn’t been overly accurate, I want it to be on a heavily favored team in a game with a high over/under.
