What to do with Colts D/ST in Week 12 fantasy football

If nothing else Indianapolis’ defense has been consistent this season. We break down whether the Colts’ D/ST is worth playing vs. the Texans.

A model of consistency, the Indianapolis Colts D/ST has posted average numbers for most of the season. The Colts have had at least 7.0 fantasy points on D/ST in seven of 10 games, including each of the past six games. Most of it is thanks to a decent secondary and anchored by LB Darius Leonard in the middle.

Fantasy Football Analysis, Indianapolis Colts D/ST

The last time these two teams played the Colts had one of their best defensive performances of the season. They forced two turnovers and had a safety to go with three sacks. The pass rush will be key, with Houston still boasting one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.

Indy is just outside the top 10 in terms of yards allowed per game and the Colts are mostly bend-but-not-break, allowing under 100 yards rushing and around 20 points per game. The Texans are coming off a tough loss on a short week and come back home on TNF.

Normally the short week favors the home team, so I’m a bit hesitant to play the Colts D/ST in this spot. But Indy’s defense is relatively healthy with most of its injuries on the offensive side of the ball. The Colts should pressure QB Deshaun Watson into some sacks/questionable throws, so a few turnovers may be on the menu. I’m torn here but I’ll go with the more talented unit and coach.
