Ka’imi Fairbairn averages 6.6 fantasy points per game, ranking 17th in the league. He’s missed two kicks between 40-49 yards and three over 50 yards. He’s also missed five extra points. The Texans rank 20th in field goals attempted, and 16th in extra points attempted. So far, these numbers are not favorable for Fairbairn in any way.
Fantasy football analysis: Houston Texans K Ka’imi Fairbairn
The last time these two teams met in Indianapolis, Fairbairn had his second-best fantasy day. He hit all three of his field goals and two extra points for 12 fantasy points. And before his zero against the Ravens last week, he had scored 10, 10, 12, 5, and 13 fantasy points in his five previous games.
The Colts allow the eighth-most fantasy points per game to kickers. They also rank 14th in field goal attempts allowed, and 24th in extra point attempts permitted. That tells me that kickers have hit some long field goals against them to make up for the lack of volume.
Playing in Houston will be advantageous weather-wise, but overall, Fairbairn hasn’t produced well enough to get big points out of long field goals, and he hasn’t had enough volume to bank on weekly.
