A lot of Zach Pascal’s fantasy value is tied to T.Y. Hilton’s status. You would think if Hilton is ruled out again, which appears to be likely on the short week, then Pascal would be in a good spot with the Indianapolis Colts facing the Houston Texans’ poor secondary. But actually I think it’s the inverse. If Hilton returns, it should open up Pascal for an easier matchup with the Texans’ looking to blanket Hilton. If Hilton is out, the good thing for Pascal is more targets. Let’s break it down.
Fantasy Football Analysis, Indianapolis Colts WR Zach Pascal
The last time the Colts faced the Texans was when Pascal went bonkers. He finished with six catches for 106 yards and two TDs, good for 31.6 fantasy points. At the time, that one game was more points than Pascal had had all season. He’s been very streaky for the most part, but is still getting consistent targets with at least six in each of the past three games. What we can take away from the last game vs. Houston is Pascal was targetted three times in the red zone, catching two passes for those two TDs. So they weren’t long catches.
This matchup is good and Hilton’s status doesn’t impact things too much, but I just don’t think Pascal is getting the volume and catches to be considered outside of deeper leagues. Even in PPR, he isn’t consistent and could see fewer snaps with Hilton back. I’d consider him a risky play this deep in the season, particularly on a TNF slate.
Start/Sit Recommendation
Flex in deeper leagues. Sit otherwise.
