UPDATE: Hilton is ACTIVE.
UPDATE: Hilton thinks he is good to go, according to James Palmer. We’ll have inactives at 6:50 p.m., so that will be the final confirmation. If Hilton plays, he is a must start against a shaky Texans secondary.
The Indianapolis Colts are hoping for some reinforcements as they prepare to face the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football to open Week 12. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is making progress and is officially listed as questionable on the final injury report.
Hilton had not practiced since injuring his calf in Week 8. This week, the Colts had three walkthroughs rather than a full practice. When that happens, the participation reports are declared estimates rather than actual results from practice. Hilton was listed as a DNP on Monday and Tuesday but then as a full participant on Wednesday.
Fantasy football analysis: Colts WRs T.Y. Hilton, Zach Pascal
Hilton is traveling with the team to Houston, per John Lopez, so that offers fantasy owners one reason for optimism. The Colts media isn’t saying he’s definitely playing, but it feels like they think there is a better than even chance of it happening. The upside for fantasy owners is it’s the first game of the week, so we’ll know quickly what his status is.
The big question is how much he will play and what kind of value he provides. I’m inclined to think an active Hilton is a guy you start. Aggravation of the injury is a concern, but if he’s playing, you drafted him for a reason.
On the other hand, if you have Zach Pascal and are wondering what to do, he’s a guy worth starting even if Hilton is active. The Texans secondary is struggling, so even with a healthy Hilton, Pascal would be a valuable starting option this week. An active Hilton lowers Pascal’s ceiling, but he’s still a solid option in Week 12.
