A.J. Green sits out practice ... again

A.J. Green as a 2019 fantasy football contributor just is not going to happen.

Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green sat out another practice, according to beat writer Tyler Dragon. Earlier in the week, head coach Zac Taylor said Green remains day-to-day, but that phrase is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Green has been focused on rehab this year, and has not taken part in any kind of practice since Week 8. Green tore ligaments in his ankle in training camp and was sidelined after surgery. In Week 6, he got in two limited practice sessions, but then was a DNP all of Week 7. In Week 8, he got in limited work all three days, but that was the last of it.

The team had a bye in Week 9, and the hope was he could return in Week 10. Green took part in the team’s Wednesday walkthrough that week, but his ankle swelled up and he was unable to practice that week.

The time has come to release Green from your fantasy football rosters. I imagine many of you have some FOMO when it comes to releasing Green, but the time has come fantasy football players.
