Detroit is struggling right now, but it certainly hasn’t helped that Matthew Stafford has been unable to play. The Lions’ quarterback has a fractured back, and could be out for a total of six weeks. Matt Patricia has labeled him as week to week. Meanwhile, the defense continues to be utter garbage. It is ranked 26th in Football Outsiders DVOA, and 24th against the pass. Even with Jeff Driskel playing fairly well (260 total yards, three touchdowns, no turnovers against Dallas), the Lions simply cannot compete if they continue to give up so many points per game. The only team to score less than 26 points against Detroit the last five games has been Chicago.

Washington continues to be one of the worst teams in football. They are 1-9 with a point differential of -128, and are coming off of a 34-17 drubbing to the now 3-7 Jets. Their defense is rated 28th in DVOA, with their offense somehow being worse at 31st. Only the Dolphins, Jets, and Bears average less yards per play on the year. Though he did throw his first two touchdown passes of the year last week, rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins continues to be sacked at an alarming rate. He has been brought to the turf on 15.1% of his drop-backs so far.
