Jordan Howard not cleared for practice on Friday of Week 12

Eagles RB Jordan Howard still has not been cleared for contact. He seems unlikely to play in Week 12, which boosts Miles Sanders’ fantasy value. We break down the implications.

The Philadelphia Eagles host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, and there is a strong chance running back Jordan Howard will not be active. Howard suffered a stinger in Week 9 and has not yet been cleared to return to contact drills. Head coach Doug Pederson said the situation remains the same on Friday of Week 12, per beat writer Les Bowen.

The fact that he has not been cleared for practice on the final day of practice suggests he is unlikely to be active for Sunday. The Eagles will release their final injury report later today, and he will likely be listed as doubtful or out for Sunday.

Miles Sanders got the start last week in place of an inactive Howard. He rushed 11 times for 38 yards and caught two of four targets for nine yards. Boston Scott had seven rushes for 26 yards as the backup. Jay Ajayi, signed a couple days before the game, was active but did not play.

Fantasy football analysis: Eagles RBs Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders

If Howard is inactive on Sunday, Sanders gets a solid matchup against the Seahawks. Seattle has been decent against the run, but there should be some running room on Sunday. His chances in the passing game might not see much growth however, with Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor both on track to play. Sanders is a decent but not great RB2 option in Week 12.
