A.J. Green ruled out for Week 12, Auden Tate listed as questionable

The Bengals will not have their star playmaker, but could get back a decent pass catching option.

UPDATE: The Bengals formally ruled out A.J. Green and have designated Auden Tate as questionable.

The Cincinnati Bengals wrapped up their final practice of Week 12, and to nobody’s surprise, wide receiver A.J. Green did not take part, per beat writer Tyler Dragon. The team will likely rule him out later this afternoon for Sunday’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The wait for his return from a training camp ankle injury continues.

Fellow wide receiver Auden Tate might be able to play this weekend. He suffered a concussion on Thursday Night Football last week, but has progressed through the concussion protocol and practice on Friday. He is listed as questionable, and head coach Zac Taylor said he could potentially play, per team reporter Geoff Hobson.

Fantasy football analysis: Bengals WRs A.J. Green, Auden Tate

It’s time to release A.J. Green. FOMO is a thing, but his potential for this season is pretty limited. Just move on.

If Tate is active, he’ll start opposite Tyler Boyd with Alex Erickson operating out of the slot. It’s hard to get too excited about Bengals skill position players with Ryan Finley. There is some modest upside in a decent matchup with the Steelers, but Tate is no more than a deeper PPR flex option.
