UPDATE: Hassan Whiteside (hip) will start in Monday’s game vs. the Bulls. Coach Terry Stotts did say that Whiteside may be yanked early in the first quarter to see how his hip feels, but if everything checks out OK, Whiteside should be in line for his normal allotment of minutes. But be cautious when using him in DFS.
After missing the past two games due to a hip injury, the Portland Trail Blazers will get center Hassan Whiteside back in the lineup Monday night vs. the Chicago Bulls, per beat reporter Jason Quick.
Whiteside had missed games against the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers last week due to the injury. He had been turning a corner with his new team before going down, notching a double-double in two of three games while staying out of foul trouble. Now, Whiteside enters Monday night healthy and in a great spot vs. the Bulls.
Fantasy Basketball Analysis, Portland Trail Blazers C Hassan Whiteside
On DraftKings, Whiteside ($6,100) is one of the top plays on the slate. Chicago is one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA, plus Whiteside’s price is affordable given his floor is most likely a double-double tonight. This is the lowest price point on Whiteside since the first couple games of the season as well. I’m confident rolling him out in cash games and GPPs, though his ownership should be high.
Right now, the line is almost a pick ‘em on DraftKings Sportsbook. I think this is a good spot to get the Blazers at. They’re getting healthier and are still much more talented than their record suggests. The Bulls on the otherhand are somewhat unraveling with Zach LaVine butting heads with coach Jim Boylen.
