The Saints host the Panthers this Sunday in a matchup between the first and second place teams in the NFC South. Unfortunately, for the Panthers, their 5-5 record puts them three games behind the Saints.
The Panthers do face the Saints twice in these last six games, so they get a shot at cutting that lead significantly starting this Sunday. Their chances aren’t great, though, as the Saints are favored by +9.5 this week.
Carolina has lost three of their last four games, but last week’s beatdown by the Falcons on the Panthers home field was a big blow to their chances moving forward. They will need quarterback Kyle Allen to right the ship that he’s taken off course, and fast.
The Saints are in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the playoffs with the Packers, 49ers, and Seahawks. Their schedule after this Panthers game is as follows, @Falcons, vs. 49ers, vs. Colts, @Titans, @Panthers. Getting the 49ers at home is a plus in their chances to gain home field advantage and a stronger shot at the NFC Championship.
