How to handle Auden Tate injury in Week 12 fantasy football

The Bengals are hoping Auden Tate can play in Week 12, although his value is limited with QB Ryan Finley. We break down the fantasy football implications.

The Cincinnati Bengals face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12, looking to get rid of that zero and get their first win of 2019. They will once again be without wide receiver A.J. Green, but they might be able to get Auden Tate back in action. Tate sat out Wednesday and Thursday practices and then was a limited participant in Friday’s practice before being listed as questionable on the final injury report.

Tate suffered a concussion in Week 11 against the Oakland Raiders and was carted off the field after a scary hit. Fortunately, it appears to not have been as bad as it initially looked. He traveled back to Cincinnati with the team and has worked his way through the concussion protocol.

He still needs to be formally cleared on Saturday, and if he experiences any concussion symptoms he could go back into the protocol. But for now, he seems to be on track to play on Sunday. The team has a 1:00 p.m. kickoff on Sunday, so we’ll know early enough what his status is.

Fantasy football analysis: Bengals WR Auden Tate

The Steelers have been in the middle of the pack in defending wide receivers. Tyler Boyd remains a decent PPR option, but Ryan Finley severely downgrades most of the offense. It’s hard to justify starting Tate outside of the deepest of leagues (16+ teams) or smaller leagues with deeper starting lineups.
