How to handle Emmanuel Sanders and Deebo Samuel injuries in Week 12 fantasy football

Both receivers are expected to play, despite being listed as questionable.

If you just looked at the San Francisco 49ers injury report and saw all the offensive skill players listed as questionable, you might be concerned about this week’s big Sunday night matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Drill down a little bit, and it looks most of those players will actually end up playing this week, including wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Deebo Samuel.

Sanders is dealing with a rib injury. He was in the same boat last week against the Cardinals, but ended up playing in that game. However, his workload was noticeable scaled back, and he caught just three passes for 33 yards.

Samuel did all the damage in that game last week. The rookie second-round pick caught eight passes for 134 yards against Arizona. And while he did not manage to find the end zone, that was his second game in a row with triple digit yardage numbers. He’s been limited in practice this week with a shoulder injury.

Tight end George Kittle is also going to be back in action for this game, which is great for the Niners, but means more mouths to feed from a fantasy perspective.

Both receivers are obviously capable of doing some damage, but Sanders is more of a risk at this point given the obvious limitations his injury caused him last week. You’ll want to tread lightly with both guys, but if you have to choose one, Samuel is the best bet.
