Many believed that the other NFC South battle on Sunday’s main slate would be the highest scoring, but it ended up being the opposite. The Panthers and Saints combined for over 60 points in their divisional bout, with the Saints coming out on top 34-31 on a last-second field goal. There were plenty of big fantasy performances, most notably by somebody on the Panthers not named Christian McCaffrey.
It was DJ Moore who shined for the Panthers in the loss. Moore finished with six catches for 126 yards and two TDs on the slate, good for 28.6 fantasy points. But I mean, CMC also did work in PPR, notching 133 yards total with nine catches and two TDs for 34.3 fantasy points. Panthers QB Kyle Allen also bounced back after not having thrown more than 2 TD passes since earlier in the season. Allen completed 23 of 36 passes for 256 yards and three TDs.
With the playoff picture in mind, the Saints now have a stranglehold on the NFC South division at 9-2, with the Panthers dropping to 5-6 on the season.
