The NFL is midway through the late afternoon stretch of the Week 12 Sunday schedule, and we have a few notable names on the injury report after the 1:00 p.m. games. There were not a lot of injuries during the morning session, but we have some names to track. Most notably, Carson Wentz suffered a hand injury but returned to the game, and that will be reviewed this coming week.
We’ve still got the second half of the late afternoon games, and Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football to go, so this list could grow. But in the meantime, it’s time to start considering your waiver wire options for Week 13 of your fantasy football leagues. Below is a rundown of notable injuries, and who stands to benefit as you consider what to do with your waiver wire priority.
Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Wentz briefly left the game to get his hand examined in the locker room. Josh McCown was ready to go, but Wentz returned to the game. After the game, he had x-rays that came up negative, per head coach Doug Pederson. Following a post-game press conference, Wentz went to the trainers room and had ice and a bandage wrapped around his hand, per beat writer Jeff McLane. It sounds like things are looking good, but Pederson expects some more tests just to confirm it.
Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Jones did not come out with the team after halftime and was announced as questionable to return with a shoulder injury. He eventually returned and finished the game with five catches for 68 yards. After the game, Jones did not speak to the media as he was getting treatment on his shoulder, per beat writer Vaughn McClure. Head coach Dan Quinn told the media the team will know more on Monday after Jones gets his shoulder checked out.
Hunter Renfrow, WR, Oakland Raiders
Renfrow suffered a rib injury and was announced as questionable to return. He did not return and will likely undergo tests on Monday to see how his ribs are looking. He’s been hit or miss this season, but offers some PPR value if he can get healthy — especially considering this coming weekend’s matchup with the shaky Chiefs defense.
Dwayne Haskins, QB, Washington
Haskins was in a sling after the game and told the media he was playing with an injured wrist. He said he’s good moving forward, but it will be something to track. He’s not someone to roster in fantasy football outside of dynasty leagues.
