The Indianapolis Colts are going to place tight end Eric Ebron on injured reserve this week so he can get surgical procedures on both of his ankles, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. He ends his season with 31 receptions, 375 yards, and three touchdowns.
In his final game of the season this past Thursday, Ebron led the Colts with four receptions for 44 yards on five targets. The Colts struggled to get their passing game going against the Houston Texans and dropped to 6-5.
In his absence, Jack Doyle will take on the bulk of the tight end work. Doyle had three receptions for 28 yards and has 30 receptions for 304 yards and three touchdowns this season. He has certainly developed a certain amount of consistency, with three receptions on four targets each of the past three games, and three or four receptions every week dating back to Week 3.
T.Y. Hilton is the only receiver or tight end to offer regular fantasy value in this offense. Zach Pascal has had a couple big games, but has been unable to turn it into consistency. Doyle has little fantasy value at this point.
