Devonta Freeman expected to return to practice in Week 13

The Falcons backfield is awful without Devonta Freeman in the mix. We break down the latest fantasy football implications heading into Week 13.

The Atlanta Falcons are hoping to get a key reinforcement back soon as they begin preparations for their Week 13 Thanksgiving game against the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Dan Quinn told the media Monday morning that he anticipates running back Devonta Freeman returning to practice this week, according to team reporter Kelsey Conway.

Freeman suffered a foot sprain in Week 10 against the Saints, and has yet to hit the practice field. Brian Hill has started in his place, with Qadree Ollison serving as backup. Neither has been overly effective in two games. This past week against Tampa Bay, Ollison rushed eight times for 20 yards and a touchdown and Hill had nine rushes for 14 yards.

Given the short week, Freeman is probably a longshot to play on Thanksgiving. Hill will likely get another start, although if he does not improve soon he will lose more work to Ollison. Neither is worth starting in fantasy football.
