Welcome to Week 13, the ride that never ends, well, until Week 14. Michael Thomas is our Christian McCaffrey and Lamar Jackson of wide receivers this season, so it’s always fun to look at his record-setting pace. So far, he has 104 receptions through 11 games, which is a record in itself and puts him on pace for 151 receptions. Marvin Harrison holds the receptions record at 143 in 2002.
Thomas also leads the league in yardage with 1,242 yards, with Chris Godwin in second with 171 fewer yards. He is on pace for 1,806 yards, which isn’t a record, but would put him fifth all-time. He’s having a special year, and he could easily up those pace stats against a weak Falcons defense on Thanksgiving night.
Injury/Status Report
Julio Jones didn’t practice on Tuesday, and his team plays Thursday. He could be a game-time decision this week against Tampa Bay. If he can’t go, Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage get nice boosts.
Adam Thielen returned to practice following the bye. He is trending toward playing after the team dropped Josh Doctson.
T.Y. Hilton says he wasn’t able to go all out last week and that’s why he didn’t see much work. He didn’t sound overly optimistic about this week, but we’ll see how his status is later in the week.
Taylor Gabriel is in the concussion protocol, and likely won’t play on Thursday. Javon Wims will take his snaps.
Hunter Renfrow broke a rib that punctured his lung. Darren Waller and Tyrell Williams will remain the only startable receivers for Oakland.
Andy Reid is optimistic about Tyreek Hill’s hamstring injury. It doesn’t appear to be a bad injury, and he had the bye week to rest. He looks like he’ll play against the Raiders.
Golden Tate is in the concussion protocol. Sterling Shepard would likely see a significant bump against the Packers.
WR Ranking Tiers
Tier 1
Michael Thomas has no rival in PPR leagues.
D.J. Moore has six or more receptions in his last four games and eight or more targets in his previous seven games. He’s become a Tier 1 receiver in both PPR and standard leagues.
Cooper Kupp should have a nice bounceback game this week against the Cardinals, who have given up 60 receptions for 826 yards and five touchdowns to wide receivers over their last four games.
Tier 2
DeAndre Hopkins, against Stephon Gilmore, moves him down to Tier 2. Playing at home helps, and I expect Hopkins to still give us a good PPR game as long as the Texans need to throw the ball.
Michael Gallup gets the easier matchup, as Amari Cooper will face Tre’Davious White. That pushes Gallup into Tier 2 this week.
There are some tough matchups and injury concerns for some top wide receivers like Julio Jones, Adam Thielen, Amari Cooper, and DeAndre Hopkins. All are must starts if they play, but we need to lower our expectations.
WR Streamers
Robby Anderson looks like he’s back on the upswing, and he gets a great matchup with the Bengals. It finally feels safe to start him again.
Randall Cobb could see some extra work, much like Gallup, as White will be on Cooper. Don’t be afraid to throw him in your lineup after a strong stretch of games.
Anthony Miller should see extra work with Taylor Gabriel out, and he’s already seen a bump in targets of late. Add in Darius Slay going after Allen Robinson, and he makes for a good streamer on Thanksgiving.
