It was a big week for the Buffalo Bills running game in their win over the Denver Broncos. Rookie back Devin Singletary led the way, setting season highs in both rushing yards (106) and carries (21) for 12.6 fantasy points. Singletary has been less involved in the passing game lately, but has at least 15 carries in three of four games.
Gore, who doesn’t seem to age, had 15 carries for 65 yards, passing Barry Sanders for third place all time with 15,289 rushing yards in his storied career. The Bills had 47 carries for 244 yards against Denver, and we can expect them to continue to emphasize the run game heading into Thanksgiving vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Football Analysis: Buffalo Bills running backs
The Cowboys overall have been an enigma this season, particularly on defense. They are allowing under 20 points per game and around 100 rushing yards per game, but have been torched by Aaron Jones and Dalvin Cook while also giving up big plays in the passing game. The Bills offense is one dimensional, but they’re boasting a pretty strong run game and put Singletary and Gore in good position with defense.
I think Singletary is a solid RB2 given the amount of touches he’s getting. It also looks like if any RB is going to get targets in the passing game, it’s Singletary and not Gore. The veteran to me isn’t really a viable play outside of maybe a FLEX in deeper formats. He doesn’t have much upside and will cede carries to the rookie if the Bills get a lead. If Buffalo falls behind, Singletary is the more flashy player, so he’d get most of those snaps.
Singletary: Start as RB2 in most formats.
Gore: FLEX in deeper leagues otherwise sit.
