What to do with Stephen Hauschka, Brett Maher in Week 13 fantasy football

Thanksgiving day pits two winning teams against each other, Are their kickers worth starting to give you an edge in fantasy football for Week 13?

Brett Maher currently ranks eighth if kicker fantasy points while Stephen Hauschka ranks 20th. For the year, Hauschka has made 13-of-18 field goals and 24-of-25 extra points. Three of his misses have come from 50 yards or longer while two have come under 50 yards.

Brett Maher has made 19-of-26 field goals and 32-of-32 extra points. Four of his misses have come from 50 yards or longer while three have come under 50 yards. Only three other kickers have attempted more field goals than Maher, and only two have tried more extra points. The fact that he ranks eighth in fantasy points is due to his misses, but his usage is elite for a kicker.

Hauschka’s usage is much worse, as his 19 attempts rank 20th, and his 13 makes rank 22nd. It’s difficult to sugar-coat those numbers, especially when he’s missed five of 18 attempts.

Fantasy football analysis: Bills and Cowboys kickers, Stephen Hauschka, Brett Maher

Maher faces a Bills defense that has given up the fewest points to opposing kickers and the third-fewest field goal attempts. Their defense tends to keep teams out of field goal range, but they’ve also faced some pretty weak offenses and Cairo Santos, who missed FOUR field goals against them. Maher, at home, is a lock for your lineups due to the Cowboys above-average offense in a game they are favored.

Hauschka is not a lock for your lineups due to his limited usage and inconsistent ability. And being +7 underdogs doesn’t bode well for the Bills kicking field goals if they are down big in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Maher.

Sit Hauschka.
