The Cincinnati Bengals return to practice on Friday after what appeared to be a day off from a full practice. The team released what appears to have been an estimated injury report for Thanksgiving. It is no surprise that wide receiver A.J. Green was listed as a DNP once again.
Green has yet to return to practice after some swelling set him back a few weeks ago. And yet, the Bengals continue to keep him on the 53-man roster. Head coach Zac Taylor discussed it earlier this week, telling the media he and the rest of the organization are hopeful each week that things will finally improve.
“I think he wants to play. I don’t think. I know he wants to play,” Taylor said. “Right now we continue to carry him (on the roster) and just hopeful each and every week that it will be different and we’ll take it from there.”
I’m not all that sure what we can expect at this point other than more DNPs. The Bengals have nothing to play for and Green will want to be 100 percent for his pending free agency next spring. It would be a sizable upset to see Green back on the field with the Bengals this season. There’s no reason to keep him on your fantasy rosters anymore this season.
But Zac Taylor thinks things could eventually change. Good luck with that.
