The Kansas City Chiefs host the Oakland Raiders in a Week 13 matchup that could settle the AFC West. The 7-4 Chiefs can’t clinch the division with a win, but if they beat 6-5 Oakland they would move to two games up with four to go AND hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. If the Raiders win, the two teams would be tied in record, head-to-head, and divisional records. Record in common games is the next tiebreaker.
The Chiefs are a ten-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, and the point total is set at 51. The Chiefs are a sizable -455 on the money line, while the Raiders are +370 underdogs. Both teams are 6-5 against the spread. The Raiders have gone over the point total six times, while the Chiefs have gone over seven times.
Injury report
The big news in this one is Chiefs running back Damien Williams, who has missed two straight practices with a rib injury. Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow has his own rib injury and is not expected to play.
Pick against the spread
Sports bettors the world over have been waiting for this week since the schedule was released. It’s the Chiefs coming out of the bye, and it’s time to bet on Andy Reid. In 20 games coming off the bye, Andy Reid-coached teams are 17-3 straight up, but more importantly, his teams are 13-7 against the spread!
Josh Jacobs running at this atrocious Chiefs defense is the most notable concern in this situation. This offense is coming off an atrocious performance against the New York Jets. I do think they bounce back, and would expect strong numbers from Jacobs, but I just don’t think they can hang with this Chiefs offense. Patrick Mahomes’ knee is getting healthier and Tyreek Hill had a bye week to rest his hamstring. I think this ends up a fairly high scoring affair and the Chiefs cruise to victory.
