Officially, the Carolina Panthers listed Curtis Samuel as questionable ahead of this week’s game against the Tennessee Titans. However, head coach Ron Rivera said that Samuel was more aptly described as probable, which is about as good of an endorsement that he will play as you’ll get until the official active roster is due on Sunday.
Samuel had a rough game last week. He four passes, but had just 46 yards, which doesn’t translate to great fantasy numbers. But that was against a tough opponent, the 49ers, that have a knack for limiting whatever offense they’re up against. A week before that he had his best game of the season, catching four passes for 70 yards and a touchdown.
The question now is how valuable he could be in your fantasy lineup this week against the Titans.
Fantasy football analysis, Carolina Panthers WR Curtis Samuel
Though it doesn’t show up in fantasy scoring, the thing to take away from Samuel’s game last week is the 11 targets he had. That brings him up to 23 total targets in his last three games, meaning the Panthers are actively trying to get him the ball. And these aren’t short passes either; they’re pushing the ball down the field when they throw it to the speedy Samuel.
At $4,300 in DK leagues this week, Samuel is one of the cheaper options available who could actually produce. He’s worth a look.
