Preston Williams injury update

Williams has returned to the game in the third quarter.

The Miami Dolphins are leading the New York Jets 21-12, but they might have to close out a potential win without one of their better offensive players. Wide receiver Preston Williams went up to try and make a circus catch, but came down and appeared to hurt his upper body on the incomplete pass, per Joe Schad.

UPDATE: The team announced it is a wrist injury and Williams is questionable to return in Week 9.

Williams had four receptions for 60 yards and two touchdowns prior to the injury. DeVante Parker has two receptions for 31 yards and the other Ryan Fitzpatrick touchdown. Allen Hurns and Jakeem Grant will likely see some additional playing time during Williams’ absence.

Williams has caught at least four passes in five of the Dolphins’ last six games. His two touchdowns on Sunday are the first score for him since he found the end zone in Week 1.
