In NFL DFS, if you’re going to spend up, you must be sure you’ll be getting bang for your buck. For example, a player worth $6,000 who scores 24 points has quadrupled, or 4Xed, their salary, which can send you zooming up the standings. Those are the guys we want throughout the lineup. Here are our best quarterback plays with salaries over $6,000 for Week 13:
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders ($7,400)
Everything is setting up very nicely for Mahomes to have one his vintage (can we call 1½ seasons vintage?) performances. The Raiders are back on the road after getting dismantled by the Jets last week. They rank in the bottom five in the league against the pass. Mahomes has had two weeks to full recover from his knee injury and the Chiefs are a little shorthanded in the run game. Mahomes threw for 443 yards and four touchdowns against the Raiders in Week 2. Even at the highest salaries among QBs, he’s a phenomenal play this week.
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers at New York Giants ($6,500)
Rodgers has been a shell of himself the past three games, but much of that can be attributed to the defenses he faced, going against the Chargers, Panthers and 49ers, two of which are in the top 5 in the league against the pass. The Giants are in the bottom five and at 2-9 are showing all indications of checking out for the rest of 2019. This is a must win for Green Bay, and they should roll all over the Giants here.
Sam Darnold, New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals ($6,100)
Darnold is no longer seeing ghosts. In fact, he’s seeing open receivers and getting them the ball on the regular. Darnold has seen an increase in DraftKings points in four consecutive games – 13.5-21.7-26.4-31.2 – throwing for 608 yards with six touchdowns and just one interception over his past two. This week, he draws the helpless Cincinnati defense that gets crushed both by land and by air. A Darnold-Lev Bell stack has a lot of appeal this week.
