The Sunday kickoffs for Week 13 are almost here, and it’s time to start plotting out your Week 13 DFS lineups. In Week 12, a lot of the usual suspects dominated, but we had some under-the-radar names step up in a big way to key folks to victory.
If you splurge elsewhere in your DFS lineup, you might need to scrap the bottom of the barrel to fill out the rest of your lineup. If you’re able to save a little more money on a player, who not make it the tight end position?
So here are three best tight end plays under $4,000 that could provide the best value for Week 13. Values from DraftKings.
Jacob Hollister (SEA) - $4,000
I know, I know...$4,000 isn’t technically less tan $4,000, but give me credit for the “push” here. The Seattle Seahawks have shown a desire to keep the tight end position actively involved in the passing game this year, whether that was Will Dissly early in the yera or Hollister after Dissly went down to injury. This has been especially true in the red zone, with Hollister catching three touchdown passes in the last three games. With MVP-candidate Russell Wilson at quarterback, Hollister could have another big game - especially if Tyler Lockett is forced to miss the game due to illness.
Noah Fant (DEN) - $3,700
There’s logic in riding the “hot hand” in your daily fantasy lineup for as long as possible. There’s also logic in immediately buying in on a player after a down week to take advantage of a cheaper DFS salary, and that’s the rationale behind starting Noah Fant this week. After logging a combined 175 yards and a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns, Fant immediately followed that up with a stinker against the Buffalo Bills, totaling only 14 receiving yards all game. Take advantage of that dud of a performance against the Bills as that’s kept Fant’s Week 13 DFS salary incredibly reasonable against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Vance McDonald (PIT) - $3,400
We’re really scraping the barrel here, but Vance McDonald is still a great high-value tight end this week, even with Devlin Hodges at quarterback. The Pittsburgh Steelers have already ruled out JuJu Smith-Schuster this week, and running back James Conner is listed as doubtful. There won’t be many receiving options for Hodges and the Steelers against the rival Cleveland Browns, but a rookie quarterback’s best friend can be a tight end underneath as a check-down option. He could be boom-or-bust this week, but McDonald has all of the signs of a strong performance this week in Pittsburgh.
