It would be great if you could just build your daily fantasy lineup with all the best running backs but unfortunately, that’s where salaries come in. You have to pair those expensive backs with cheaper names who will outperform their current price tag.
Here are three backs, all priced under $6,000, who are set to have big weekends and will give you a bigger weekend than their salary would suggest. Values from DraftKings.
Miles Sanders (@ Dolphins) - $5,400
Sanders has been having a strong rookie year in Philadelphia even though their offense has been shaky this season. He’s averaging 11.5 touches per game and has scored double digit points in three out of his last four games. The Dolphins, unsurprisingly, have been less than good at stopping running backs, allowing the fifth most points to the position this year. With the Eagles offense still figuring things out, I would expect them to turn to the run game in a game they should easily win and Sanders will be the main beneficiary.
Jonathan Williams (vs Titans) - $5,300
Williams has taken over the Colts backfield by storm since Marlon Mack went down. He’s now scored at least 18 fantasy points in his last two starts and is set for another big week Sunday. The Titans have allowed the fifth most points to running backs the last four weeks. With the defense struggling and Williams thriving, I fully expect him to win the matchup and well outplay his cheap price tag.
Jamaal Williams (@ Giants) - $4,500
Williams has had a consistent role in the Packers offense all season, scoring at least 13 points in four of his last five games. He has another good matchup this week against the Giants, who are giving up the ninth most rushing yards to the position this year. I’m kinda shocked at how cheap Williams is this week, costing you less than Wayne Gallman and Gus Edwards.
