The New England Patriots waived wide receiver Josh Gordon off their injured reserve list on Thursday, and by Friday he had a new home. The Seattle Seahawks claimed Gordon to join a receiver group that includes Tyler Lockett and a surging DK Metcalf.
The Patriots had placed Gordon on injured reserve because of a knee issue that was slowing him down. However, the general belief was that Gordon would only need a week or two to get ready. He was inactive for the Seahawks’ Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he is apparently making progress to play in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. Over the weekend, we learned that he had passed his physical in Seattle.
This does not guarantee he will play next Monday against the 49ers, but it is a positive step for him. The matchup is a Showdown game on DraftKings, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to get his price for the matchup. Once Gordon is finally active, he is probably not worth playing in any fantasy platform until his new role reveals itself.
