The Philadelphia Eagles offense will likely have to make do without wide receiver DeSean Jackson for the rest of the year. Je aggravated his core muscle injury in Week 9 and is going to have surgery on it, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.

Jackson originally suffered the injury in Week 2, and decided against surgery in hopes of returning this season. He played in Week 9, but was on and off the field multiple times before leaving for good in the second half. Eagles reporter John Clark is reporting Jackson tore his abdominal muscle completely off the bone.

Clark is reporting Jackson is expected to miss four to six weeks with the injury, while Adam Schefter reported Jackson will miss at least six weeks. The Eagles head into their bye this week and then have seven games after the bye, plus potentially the playoffs.

Fantasy football analysis: Eagles offense

From a purely football perspective, Jackson could return and contribute to an Eagles playoff run. From a fantasy perspective, his season is likely finished. Four weeks on the low end gets him back in time for fantasy playoffs, while six or more weeks all but ends it. You can probably drop Jackson at this point, especially if you need some options to clear room for waivers.
