SECOND UPDATE: Cooper has returned to the game late in the second quarter on the Cowboys next drive and caught a six-yard pass on his first look.
UPDATE: Cooper suffered a knee injury and the Cowboys announced he “may” return, according to reporter Ralph Vacchiano. While Cooper is out, Michael Gallup becomes the team’s No. 1 receiver and Randall Cobb moves into the starting lineup. Jason Witten is currently leading the team in receptions and targets.
The Dallas Cowboys are having troubles holding onto the ball against the New York Giants in Week 9, and now they might be without their top pass catcher. Wide receiver Amari Cooper appeared to tweak something on a 24-yard catch. He limped off the field after the catch and was seen speaking with trainers and showing some measure of frustration.
Cooper got wide open for the reception and as he turned up field, he lost his footing and went to the ground. The Cowboys subsequently turned the ball over a few plays later on a Randall Cobb fumble. We’ll see if he returns on their next drive.
