The New York Jets returned to practice on Wednesday in Week 10, and running back Le’Veon Bell will not be practicing. according to team reporter Ethan Greenberg. Bell is working with the training staff due to an ankle and knee issue. Bell underwent an MRI on Monday and head coach Adam Gase said the staff discouraged him from practicing on Wednesday, according to NFL Network reporter Andrew Siciliano.
The Jets promoted running back Josh Adams from the practice squad on Tuesday, but there has been push-back on the move being due to Bell. There are reports other teams were interested in signing Adams, so they promoted him to prevent losing him.
Fantasy football analysis: Jets RB Le’Veon Bell
It’s still early in the week, so Bell owners should not get concerned yet. Wednesday is often a veteran’s day off, so the fact that Bell is banged up means it would have been a surprise if he practiced. Ideally he’ll be upgraded to limited on Thursday, but as long as he gets a session in by the end of the day Friday, he should be good to go for Sunday against the New York Giants.
