The Pittsburgh Steelers are likely to be without running back James Conner this weekend when they host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10 football. Conner was limited in practice on Wednesday but then was downgraded to DNP on Thursday. Fellow running back Benny Snell has missed both practices this week with a knee injury.
Conner injured his shoulder in Week 8 in garbage time against the Miami Dolphins and missed last week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Jaylen Samuels got the start in his place, but he ended up more of a pass catcher, while Trey Edmunds was more effective in the rushing attack. Samuels had eight rushes for ten yards and 13 receptions for 73 yards. Emunds had 12 rushes for 73 yards.
Fantasy football analysis: Steelers running backs
The Rams rank fourth in rush defense efficiency and middle of the pack when it comes to fantasy points allowed to running backs. Edmunds appears to be the better standard option, while Samuels is the PPR option. Of course, we only have a one-game sample size, so it’s something to keep in mind. Samuels in PPR leagues is more likely to maintain what he’s done, while Edmunds in standard leagues has more downside for the time being.
