Josh Gordon on injury report with new ankle injury

We break down the fantasy implications of Josh Gordon’s ankle injury and what to make of his role with the Seahawks in Week 10 even if healthy.

The Seattle Seahawks are hoping to debut wide receiver Josh Gordon on Monday Night Football in Week 10, but his health remains an issue. Gordon was dealing with a knee injury when the New England Patriots waived him, but now he has an ankle issue. Gordon showed up on the Seahawks Thursday injury report as limited with an ankle injury. The team has two more practices on Friday and Saturday before they issue their final injury report.

Fantasy football analysis: Seahawks WR Josh Gordon

It’s hard to justify starting Gordon this Monday against the 49ers. He’s talented, but the 49ers pass defense has been impressive this season. The injury makes the decision a little bit easier. If he’s a game-time decision, you can justify to yourself starting someone else playing on Sunday rather than hoping you see Gordon on Monday.

Even if Gordon plays, he likely will be behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf for targets out of the gate. Even as Gordon is building chemistry with Russell Wilson, he’s way behind Lockett and Metcalf. Maybe he jumps out in a big way, but I’d suggest taking a wait-and-see approach.
