Getting good value on D/ST plays isn’t just about the points-per-dollar, but opening up room for the plays you want in the rest of your lineup. That’s why I usually pay down for D/ST options, and there are plenty of places to do so on the 10-game Week 10 main slate. We break down quality defensive options that will cost you less than $3,000 on DraftKings.
Giants ($2,800) at NYJ
Giants D/ST has been a much stronger play than it gets credit for this season. After scoring a grand total of -2.0 DKFP in the first two games combined, Giants D/ST is averaging 9.8 DKFP in the last seven games. This defense can force turnover and sacks, but gives up a lot of points — that’s something the Jets struggle to do. Obviously, home field doesn’t really matter here, as both teams are in their own building.
Steelers ($2,600) vs. LAR
This isn’t the best matchup for the Steelers, but this defense keeps producing, especially at home. Minkah Fitzpatrick has done wonders for Pittsburgh on the defensive side of the ball. Steelers D/ST has now scored 11 or more DKFP in six straight, and matched a season-high with 19 against the Colts last week. The Rams have an explosive offense, but Jared Goff does tend to struggle on the road, which is where he turns the ball over. This D/ST scored 11 DKFP at home against the Ravens, and is averaging 13.8 DKFP in home games this season.
Browns ($2,500) vs. BUF
This is one of those weird games, where the 2-6 home team is favored over the 6-2 road team. It speaks to how poor Buffalo’s offense can be, and the Browns have the talent for big games on defense. Even if the Browns can’t force Josh Allen into too many turnovers or sacks, the Bills shouldn’t go off for many points, keeping this a safe play.
