How to handle Kirk Cousins in Week 13 fantasy football

Vikings QB got off to slow start in 2019, but has been consistent of late. We break down whether you should start or sit him this week vs. the Seahawks.

It’s been an up-and-down season for Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins, but he’s beginning to look more consistent leading this offense. Cousins hasn’t been asked to do too much with help from RB Dalvin Cook, leading the Vikings to a comeback win over the Denver Broncos in Week 11 before the bye. Minnesota is in good position to clinch a playoff berth, but this is a huge game against the Seattle Seahawks on primetime. The Vikings can take over first in the NFC North, plus tie the Seahawks for a potential wild card spot.

Fantasy Football Analysis: Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins

The Seattle Seahawks have one of the worst pass rushes in the NFL with just 23 sacks this season. Their game plan should be to shut down the run game and Dalvin Cook, so my thinking is Cousins could have an easy time in the pocket. Really the only thing the Seahawks have going for them is homefield advantage in this game.

It’s unclear if WR Adam Thielen will be able to return from a hamstring injury since he’s been unable to get in a practice. Even if he remains out, Stefon Diggs will get a good matchup and Olabisi Johnson has been decent filling in as the No. 2 wideout. TE Kyle Rudolph has also been more involved.

I think Cousins is a decent option in deeper season-long formats. He’s got a pretty safe floor in an above-average matchup. The only thing I’d worry about is Cook going off and Cousins not throwing the ball much, but Seattle’s offense should force that issue.
