How to handle Kyler Murray’s injury in Week 13 fantasy football

Uh oh, the Cardinals QB was a late addition to this week’s injury report. Here’s what you need to know.

UPDATE: Kyler Murray is expected to start, per Adam Schefter.

The Arizona Cardinals got a full week of practice out of quarterback Kyler Murray. Everything was fine until Friday, late in the day, when the team added his name to the injury list. Murray has a questionable designation for this week’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, thanks to a hamstring injury.

Murray had been on a productive stretch before the Cardinals Week 12 bye. In his last game, a loss to the 49ers, he threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran in another one. He had three touchdown throws the week before that, adding up to eight total scores in Arizona’s last three games.

But what about his status for this week? If you’re a glass half-full kind of a person, you can point to the fact that he practiced in full all week. If you’re the half-empty type, well, showing up on the injury report this late in the week is a concern.

Late additions to the injury report are always tricky things to handle for fantasy football general managers. You’ll just have to keep an eye on the news ahead of Sunday’s game.

One thing to think about is that Murray might be at less than 100 percent if he does play this week, and hamstring injuries can be especially problematic for running quarterbacks. And a matchup against Aaron Donald doesn’t do wonders for a quarterback’s health. It might be better to look elsewhere this week.
