How to handle Gerald Everett’s injury in Week 13 fantasy football

The Rams have ruled out Everett this week, setting up a nice play for his backup.

The Los Angeles Rams have ruled out tight end Gerald Everett for this week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. The third-year player is dealing with a knee injury that has been bothering him for at least a couple weeks.

This is the first game he missed with the injury. However, he probably should have been on the shelf last week and the week before that, when an obviously hobbled Everett was limited to just 43 total yards on three catches in his last two outings.

With Everett out, that sets up a rather enticing matchup for his backup, Tyler Higbee, against the Cardinals this week.

Everett was having a great season until his knee starting bothering him. Hopefully, the time off will allow him to get back up to speed, if not for this season than for when 2020 rolls around.

This week, consider Higbee a smart play in fantasy football. He costs a mere $2,500 in DK leagues this week, the lowest price you could pay for a tight end. The Cardinals have given up three touchdowns to tight ends over their last two games.
