What to do with Baker Mayfield, Greg Olsen, Darrel Williams, others on injury report

The Week 13 injury report is relatively light for big names, but there are some fantasy football implications. We break down the situation heading into Week 14.

The NFL has wrapped up the bulk of the Week 13 Sunday schedule, and we have a few notable names on the injury report after the 1:00 p.m. and 4:05/4:25 p.m. games. It was a relatively light day for skill position injuries, but there are some names to know, and players to track on Monday when the usual round of MRIs happen.

We’ve still got Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football to go, so this list could grow. But in the meantime, it’s time to start considering your waiver wire options for Week 14 of your fantasy football leagues. Below is a rundown of notable injuries, and who stands to benefit as you consider what to do with your waiver wire priority.

Baker Mayfield, QB, Cleveland Browns

Mayfield banged his hand on a Steelers defender’s helmet on a pass follow-through. He had his hand x-rayed at halftime, but he returned with the team to start the third quarter and finished out the game. The x-rays were negative, and Mayfield is uncertain if he will get an MRI, per beat writer Mary Kay Cabot. Mayfield says he’ll be ready for Week 14.

Greg Olsen, TE, Carolina Panthers

Olsen suffered a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet hit and did not return to the game. Ryan Anderson was ejected for the hit. Ian Thomas replaced Olsen at tight end the rest of the game. Thomas had four receptions for 24 yards and would start in place of Olsen if the latter does not clear the concussion protocol this week.

Darrel Williams, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

Williams suffered a non-contact injury that the Chiefs described as a hamstring injury. Darwin Thompson replaced him and ended up as the Chiefs lead back with 11 rushes for 44 yards. Damien Williams did not place, and it would appear LeSean McCoy is being leap-frogged by everybody.

Chester Rogers, WR, Indianapolis Colts

Rogers suffered a knee injury on the Colts first drive and was ruled out shortly after. The team was down to Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson, and Ashton Dulin with T.Y. Hilton and Parris Campbell inactive due to a calf injury. Pascal finished with seven receptions for 109 yards and is the only receiver with fantasy value while Hilton is out.

Kalen Ballage, RB, Miami Dolphins

Ballage suffered a non-contact leg injury and did not return to the game. Patrick Laird got the bulk of the touches after that, finishing the game with ten rushes for five yards and a touchdown and four receptions for 43 yards.
