UPDATE: Richardson is available to play tonight vs. the Nuggets.
We can expect Richardson to bump Korkmaz out of the starting lineup. For now we don’t know if Richardson will be on a restriction, so look out for that. If he’s going to be limited, this isn’t the matchup to roll him out in season-long fantasy basketball. Keep him on the bench until he’s 100% and playing full minutes.
Richardson has missed the past six games due to a hamstring injury for the Sixers. He hasn’t played since Nov. 27 against the Sacramento Kings, but appears on track to get back into the starting lineup tonight.
Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Philadelphia 76ers SG/SF Josh Richardson
If Richardson returns to the starting 5, we will likely see Furkan Korkmaz head back to the bench. He had been filling in nicely, playing at least 20+ minutes in four of the six games Richardson was out. But Korkmaz’s production wasn’t there, so I’d say he’s worth dropping in fantasy basketball leagues. We also may see less of rookie Matisse Thybulle, though he has been showing flashes of that first-round talent, coming off a career-high 20 points vs. the Raptors over the weekend.
As for Richardson, he’s $5,700 on DraftKings and if he isn’t on a minutes limit, would be an OK play, though this game isn’t appealing on a four-game slate. Wizards-Hornets, Hawks-Heat and Knicks-Trail Blazers are all better spots for points.
