There are 11 games on Sunday’s main slate and we’ll be keeping an eye on all the latest injuries and lineup news heading into lock at 7:00 p.m. ET. Below is a table tracking each notable player, and we’ll drop in updates throughout the day with useful information for both DFS and season-long fantasy basketball.
UPDATE: Eric Paschall (hip) available to play vs. Knicks
Eric Paschall (hip) will play tonight
— Logan Murdock (@loganmmurdock) December 12, 2019
UPDATE: Marvin Bagley to return to lineup vs. Thunder
Bagley will come off the bench. “We’ll keep an eye on his conditioning,” Walton said, but he doesn’t have a strict minutes restriction. https://t.co/AunY6uE8EI
— Maddie Lee (@maddie_m_lee) December 12, 2019
Bagley will come off the bench and have his minutes monitored, so you can keep him out of your lineups tonight to be safe.
UPDATE: Ersan Ilyasova will start for Giannis vs. Pelicans
Ersan Ilyasova will start in place of Giannis tonight. #FearTheDeer pic.twitter.com/OpVZPHVOXZ
— Milwaukee Bucks (@Bucks) December 12, 2019
Ilyasova is cheap on DK and is a solid value option for tonight’s slate with Giannis out.
UPDATE: Jeff Teague available to play vs. Suns
Jeff Teague is available tonight for the Wolves.
— Danny Cunningham (@RealDCunningham) December 12, 2019
Teague is available to play but Jarrett Culver and Josh Okogie will start in the backcourt again. Teague may not see as much run, but it’s a good matchup vs. Phoenix. The pace of this game should be up.
UPDATE: Anthony Davis will start vs. Magic
Davis is in the starting lineup as expected but no word on Rondo yet.
UPDATE: Nicolas Batum OUT, Malik Monk GTD vs. Nets
UPDATE: Batum will be out this evening. Monk will be a game time decision for tonight’s @hornets game in Brooklyn. #AllFly https://t.co/BRMRbObjc1
— Charlotte Hornets PR (@HornetsPR) December 11, 2019
UPDATE: Eric Paschall (hip) now probable vs. Knicks
Warriors' rookie Eric Paschall (hip) has been upgraded to probable for tonight's game against the Knicks.
— Wes Goldberg (@wcgoldberg) December 11, 2019
It appears Paschall will be able to suit up, and is in a great spot vs. the Knicks at home. I don’t mind rolling him out on DK at $5,600 if he’s not going to be limited much.
UPDATE: Avery Bradley will return vs. Magic
Avery Bradley will make his return tonight in Orlando, and it will be off the bench on a 15-minute restriction. KCP will start.
— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) December 11, 2019
Bradley will return from a leg injury and come off the bench for the Lakers tonight in Orlando. Bradley will be limited to around 15 minutes, so really there’s no way I can recommend you roll him out in DFS or fantasy basketball. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will stay in the starting lineup and is actually a very appealing value at $3,800 on DraftKings. He could see big minutes if Rondo remains out as well. Speaking off Rondo ...
Rajon Rondo (hamstring) is a true game-time decision. They’re going to see how he feels after warming up.
— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) December 11, 2019
Rondo is now a game-time call, but tip-off is 7:00 p.m. ET, so we’ll get word soon hopefully.
UPDATE: Fred VanVleet remains OUT vs. Clippers
VavVleet out; McCaw in vs. Clippers tonight.
— Michael Grange (@michaelgrange) December 11, 2019
FVV will miss his second straight game for the Raptors and won’t face his former teammate Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. That’s gotta be tough for VanVleet, but it makes some lineup decisions easy for us in DFS and fantasy basketball. Norman Powell is yet again a good value play at $5,200 in the starting lineup. Patrick McCaw ($3,000) is also back, but it’s unclear what his role will be off the bench.
UPDATE: Markelle Fultz (illness) OUT vs. Lakers
.@OrlandoMagic PG' Markelle Fultz (stomach virus) is OUT tonight. D.J. Augustin will start tonight vs. @Lakers
— John Denton (@JohnDenton555) December 11, 2019
With Fultz out, the Magic will start D.J. Augustin at point guard against the Lake Show. This isn’t a great spot for Augustin considering the Lakers are a tough defensive team, but at $4,800 on DraftKings, DJ isn’t a bad GPP value play. He should see close to 30 minutes if the Magic can stick around.
UPDATE: Marcus Smart remains OUT vs. Pacers
#Celtics injury report vs. Indiana:
— Clevis Murray (@ClevisMurray) December 11, 2019
Romeo Langford - Right Ankle Sprain - Available
Marcus Smart - Left Eye Infection - Out
Robert Williams - Left Hip Soreness - Out
Smart is unable to make it back from his eye infection and illness and will miss a second straight game for the Celtics. Robert Williams will also remain out with a hip injury, while rookie guard Romeo Langford is available to make his NBA debut. The 2019 first-round pick isn’t really a viable option right now, but we’ll see how coach Brad Stevens works him into the rotation off the bench. No Smart means more Gordon Hayward and Brad Wanamaker.
UPDATE: Giannis (quad) OUT vs. Pelicans
Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo is out tonight against New Orleans due to right quad tendon soreness.
— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) December 11, 2019
This is slatebreaking news. With Giannis Antetokounmpo ruled out tonight for the Bucks, we can lean heavily on Eric Bledsoe ($6,000) and Khris Middleton ($6,400) in DFS on DraftKings. We’re unsure who will start in place of Giannis, but my guess would be either Donte DiVincenzo or Ersan Ilyasova, both good value options regardless.
UPDATE: Rajon Rondo still questionable, Kyle Kuzma out vs. Magic
Kyle Kuzma is OUT tonight with a left ankle sprain. Avery Bradley has been upgraded to PROBABLE. Rajon Rondo is QUESTIONABLE.
— Kyle Goon (@kylegoon) December 11, 2019
Kuzma will sit, so we should see plenty of Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee vs. Orlando. Rondo remains questionable with the hamstring injury, so we’ll keep an eye on him moving forward. If he’s out again, Alex Caruso should see plenty of run off the bench.
UPDATE: Derrick Favors won’t return yet for Pelicans
No Derrick Favors for the Pels tonight according to Alvin Gentry.
— Andrew Lopez (@_Andrew_Lopez) December 11, 2019
Still working on his conditioning as he just rejoined team Monday.
Favors has been away from the team with a persona issue and had planned to return tonight. However, Alvin Gentry confirmed he won’t be back and the Pelicans are still thin in the front court as a result.
UPDATE: Marcus Smart (eye) still questionable vs. Pacers
Celtis guard Marcus Smart (left eye infection) remained at the hotel during team shootaround.
— Scott Agness (@ScottAgness) December 11, 2019
Brad Stevens: “The eye is getting a little bit better and (he’s) feeling under the weather, so I don’t know what that means for tonight’s game.”
Smart missed shootaround, which isn’t a good sign for his status tonight vs. Indiana. Coach Brad Stevens also said Smart is dealing with an illness, so I’d say he’s closer to doubtful than questionable. At best, a game-time decision. If Smart remains out, Gordon Hayward and Brad Wanamaker are the plays to pivot to, though an 11-game slate means a lot of options. Celtics-Pacers shouldn’t be the spot to look for a ton of fantasy points.
UPDATE: Hornets early report vs. Nets
INJURY UPDATE: @hornets at BKN 12/11
— Charlotte Hornets PR (@HornetsPR) December 11, 2019
Marvin Williams (R Knee Soreness) is OUT
Nic Batum (L Hand Discomfort) is DOUBTFUL
Malik Monk (R Fifth Finger Discomfort) is PROBABLE#AllFly
So Marvin Williams is out, while Nicolas Batum is doubtful and Malik Monk appears likely to play vs. Brooklyn. This isn’t big news, but worth noting in terms of the Hornets’ rotation tonight. With Batum out, we should see the starters get the bulk of the minutes, while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could see more time off the bench.
