On the eve of New Year’s Eve, either take off of work early or even catch the first half while at work and enjoy the Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. the Louisville Cardinals in the Music City Bowl. Who’s working hard during the holiday season anyways?
This has been a fun season to watch for Louisville. Coming off a season in which it appeared the whole team quit on former head coach Bobby Petrino before the season even started, Scott Satterfield rolled in from Appalachian State and put together a 7-5 season in a terrific start to his tenure.
For Mississippi State, the Bulldogs finished the regular season 6-6 in the second year under Joe Moorhead. Running back Kylin Hill has rushed for 1,357 yards this season and quarterback Garrett Shrader has 587 rushing yards. That’s where Mississippi State will have an edge.

Mississippi State -3.5, 62
Initial Betting Analysis
Louisville’s struggles come at stopping the run, allowing more than 500 rushing yards against Kentucky in the regular season finale. Running the ball is Mississippi State’s strength, and that’s going to be the difference in this one. It might make sense to wait on the -3.5 in case there’s a chance it gets down to -3, but I’m not sure it will. Either way, I like the Bulldogs to cover the number.
