The Boston Celtics (17-6) and Philadelphia 76ers (18-7) are separated in the standings by percentage points. Whichever team wins this rivalry game moves into a temporary lead in the Atlantic Division. Let’s break down the lines and spreads on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Celtics vs. 76ers spread, over/under, money line
Spread: Celtics (-1.5)
Money line: Celtics (-120), 76ers (+102)
I am a little surprised to see the Celtics favored in this game. Sure they are home, but they are also playing on the tail end of a back-to-back, giving the Sixers a rest advantage. Not only are they fresher, the 76ers are also healthier since they recently got Josh Richardson back from a hamstring injury. From the Boston side of the game, something we need to look out for is the status of Gordon Hayward. He left last night’s game after getting hit in the nose and said he expects to play today, but Boston could be cautious and hold him out. If he’s unable to play, the Celtics are going to have to lean heavily on Kemba Walker, coming off a season-high 44 points. I like Philly’s chances to win and pass the Celtics in the standings.
Injury note: Marcus Smart has been out the past two games and will likely have an injury designation. Gordon Hayward injured his nose Wednesday and could also be questionable to play.
