Betting public expects a blowout on Thursday Night Football in Week 15

Big expectations for Baltimore and Lamar Jackson. We break down the latest betting trend and an odds boost on Jackson.

The Baltimore Ravens host the New York Jets, and the betting public does not expect this game to be overly competitive. The DraftKings Sportsbook point spread has climbed from Ravens -14.5 to Ravens -16.5, and the public is fine with that. 69 percent of the handle and 65 percent of tickets bet on the point spread have been for the heavily favored Ravens.

The line did not actually move until later Wednesday after the Ravens effectively confirmed that quarterback Lamar Jackson would be good to go on Thursday. He was listed as questionable on the final injury report, but a full participation in Wednesday practice was all the confirmation bettors would need.

This marks the fourth game this season the Ravens will lay double digit points, and the fifth since Jackson took over as quarterback last year. The Ravens are unbeaten in those games and 2-2 against the spread. This is the highest spread however in that run, with a previous high of 13 points.

Speaking of Jackson, the Ravens quarterback needs 23 rushing yards to break Michael Vick’s single season quarterback rushing record. DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a boost on whether or not Jackson will get at least 23 yards. It was installed at -115, but they’ve booted it to -106. Since rushing for six yards in the team’s opener, Jackson has not run for less than 40 yards since then. It’s worth noting he is on this week’s injury report with a quadricep injury.
