Marshawn Lynch visits Seahawks, no plans on un-retiring

We’re not saying there’s a chance.

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch visited with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday, and while there are no plans for him to return to the NFL, league rules require the team report the interaction.

Lynch has never officially filed retirement paperwork with the NFL and is an unrestricted free agent. According to beat writer Curtis Crabtree, even though he was just saying hello to people at the facility, the Seahawks had to report the meeting. Apparently this means it will show up on the league’s transaction wire.

There’s nothing to make of this, but it’s interesting that the NFL still requires this. I suppose they don’t want any underhanded shenanigans happening, but it’s still an odds requirement.

Lynch won’t be returning for fantasy football players anytime soon, but it’s amusing that he is still rostered in 0.2 percent of fantasy leagues on ESPN. A small number of folks holding out hope!
