Al Horford ruled out again, Joel Embiid will play Friday vs. Pelicans [UPDATE]

Sixers forward was unable to play Thursday in win over the Celtics. Center won’t rest on second of B2B.

UPDATE: Horford will miss his second straight game tonight vs. the Pelicans. Joel Embiid will play on the second night of a back-to-back.

So Horford remains out, but Embiid will play in a great matchup vs. New Orleans. With Horford sidelined Thursday night vs. the Celtics, Mike Scott started and played 29 minutes, so he’s an amazing value play in DFS and streamer in season-long tonight. Scott is priced way down at $3K on DraftKings. Embiid is also an appealing GPP play at $9,600 in a smash spot.

Philadelphia 76ers PF/C Al Horford’s status for Friday night vs. the New Orleans Pelicans is currently unknown after the big man missed Thursday’s win over the Boston Celtics. Horford is dealing with hamstring tightness and knee soreness — don’t forget he’s 33 years old, guys. So the veteran sat against his former team, but got a much better welcoming than Kyrie Irving (though Kyrie wasn’t even in Boston).

Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Philadelphia 76ers PF/C Al Horford

My feeling is Horford was just getting some rest last night and he should be OK to return tonight. If that is the case, I think he’s a decent play in GPPs at $6,000 given the matchup. The Pelicans play horrible defense and play up in pace. We also could see Joel Embiid take a seat on the second of a back-to-back, so keep an eye out for that news. Tobias Harris ($7,200) and Ben Simmons ($8,200) would be elite tournament plays on DraftKings if Horford and Embiid are both out.
