Report: A.J. Green has looked good in practice, could still return in Week 16

Bengals WR A.J. Green might still get a shot at returning before the 2019 season ends. Fantasy football players should not hold their breath.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green wants to play again this season and could still make it back!

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted that Green “has looked good in practice,” and the team is not yet ruling out a return in Week 16 or 17. Rapoport said Green “sounds like he wants to play,” which is something we’ve heard previously.

Fantasy football analysis: Bengals WR A.J. Green

Considering Green has been a DNP for much of the past month, it’s hard to see him returning for Week 16 fantasy championships. Even if he somehow did ramp up this week and play next Sunday, it does not seem like a particularly good idea to send out Green in his first game back after missing almost the entire football season.

I would be surprised to see Green play at all this season, but we’ll see what the Week 16 practice reports tell us. If he gets in limited workouts, I’m open to considering the possibility he returns. He holds no fantasy value for 2019, but it could give us a hint about what he might look like in 2020.
