Lions lose to Bucs, Matt Patricia’s seat gets warmer

Jameis Winston is now 4-1 when he throws an interception on his team’s first drive this season. That’s probably not a stat he wants to revel in but it does show that he can get right back off the turf like nothing happened.

Against the Lions he bounced back and fast, as he threw for almost 200 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter after throwing a pick on his first possession. The Lions made a run with their depleted offense, with practice squadder Wes Hills scoring two short touchdowns, but quarterback David Blough just didn’t have it in him, as he tossed two interceptions, one returned for a 70-yard touchdown, and no touchdowns.

It is tough to put this game on coach Matt Patricia, as he was down to third stringers and worse at key spots but he’s now had two losing seasons and is 9-19-1 as the Lions coach. The Lions had managed three winning seasons in the previous four, so the trend isn’t moving in the direction management and the fans were hoping.

The Buccaneers on the other hand at least have some excitement, as Winston continues to throw interception after interception but also touchdown after touchdown. After a huge Week 14 in which Winston threw for 456 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions, he came back this week and threw for 458 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, with both resulting in wins. Those are some numbers that fantasy footballers can get behind in their fantasy playoffs.
