The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are vying for the services of veteran Andre Iguodala, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe reported on their Trade Special. The Grizzlies are trying to deal Iguodala, who hasn’t played this season while he awaits a deal. The tough part about this is Iggy’s salary, which is $17.2 million this season. The Houston Rockets were also mentioned by Woj and Lowe as suitors for Iguodala.
The 35-year-old was a key component in the Warriors’ dynasty, winning three NBA Championships in the past four season for Golden State. The Dubs shipped Iggy to Memphis to dump his salary so they could acquire D’Angelo Russell from the Brooklyn Nets.
Whoever is able to land Iggy could have this year’s NBA title swung in their favor. He’s still an above average defender and is a great glue guy in the locker room. I’m sure LeBron James wouldn’t mind having Iggy on his side this time around when he looks to bring the Lakers a championship.
