The Carolina Panthers expect to have tight end Greg Olsen back in the starting lineup this weekend when they travel to face the Indianapolis Colts. Olsen has been cleared through the concussion protocol, per beat writer Steve Reed.
Olsen suffered a concussion in Week 13 that sidelined him for Week 14 and Week 15. Ian Thomas started in his place and caught seven passes for 80 yards and one touchdown.
Fantasy football analysis: Panthers TE Greg Olsen, Ian Thomas
Barring a setback, Olsen will likely move back into the starting lineup. Thomas will likely still get snaps, but he will no longer be fantasy relevant. Whether the Panthers start Olsen or split work between the two this week, Thomas is worth releasing to free up space for a waiver wire addition.
The Colts have given up the 13th most fantasy points to tight ends. Assuming he gets sole control of the starting job, Olsen is a solid matchup this weekend if he has sat on your bench the past two weeks.
